"I love snowdrops. I used to start looking for them at the end of January. They were always faithful and bloomed for a very long time, even after being snowed or sleeted on. They never looked anything but alert and bright in the dreary winter landscape. They always amazed me...how such a fragile beautiful little flower could face the difficult weather elements and still hold their heads high. They were delicate and strong. I think of them every January and wonder how they are doing."

Name: Bree

Age: 17

Diagnosis: Leukemia (ALL)

Short Biography: Bree was only two years when she was diagnosed with cancer. What does Bree look like today?
Well, Bree's not two anymore.

Bree was diagnosed in October of 1990 at the age of 2 years and 1 month of age, with Leukemia, specifically, Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia.

What a difference fifteen years makes, huh?

After her initial phase of treatment, about one month, Bree reached remission.  However, her treatment wasn't over just yet.  She continued treatment for another two and a half years.

After 5 years off of treatment, cancer free, Bree was considered to be a Long-Term Survivor.  Bree has been in remission since one month after diagnosis, or for about 15 and a half years.

She never suffered a relapse.

Today, Bree is a high school senior and a cheerleader.  Her desire upon graduating is to continue her education in college to study medicine and become a doctor to "payback and honor those doctors who cured me".

Bree is also a committee member of Snowdrop Foundation.

Thanks to Bree's mother, Jana, for providing this information to Snowdrop Foundation.
